Try something new...something sporty?

Try something new. It's all very well to say that, but what? Singing lessons, dance, coding club, there's so many to choose from. I myself would choose something beneficial to the health such as pilates or yoga. Choosing a fitness option is great as it is important to exercise regularly and doing something you enjoy helps. I mean, why do it if you don't enjoy it? Duh.

Pilates is for core strengthening, it involves long, slow stretching, and you come out of it feeling refreshed and pleased with yourself, as it strengthens you, and you become able to do more and more different exercises as you loosen up. I do pilates and dance, 5 hours a week. I usually come out feeling happy, as I've achieved something, learnt something new, or just done an exercise I like.

Yoga is really good for tuning in to your body, slowing down and concentrating on you, your body and your breathing. You don't need much equipment, just a yoga mat and some loose, comfortable clothing to wear. Yoga mats are inexpensive, usually $10-$15. You can teach yourself off of a video, in your living room. I would suggest starting off with simple poses, then moving on to a basic 'routine' like 'salute to the sun'.

If you're not really in to that kind of stuff, try a different sport such as rugby, soccer, netball. Do something high energy, so you feel worn out and satisfied at the end of it. I really enjoy messing around with a soccer ball, or playing rugby with friends, because its an excellent way to keep moving, get off the couch and not feel like a complete slob, lounging around all day. That feels disgusting. Physical activities are also great because when you're annoyed you can just let all your frustration out by running around.

So, that's all I have to say, try something new. A sport. Or, if you still want to keep fit, but aren't sure what sport/activity to choose, jump up and down on your bed and run madly round the house for an hour each day. Yep, that'll do it.
