Dog care

Ok, so pretty much everyone has a dog. Some kind of dog. Like, if someone says, name the first pet you think of, it will almost definitely be a dog. Dog. Cat. Rabbit. Horse. Basic pets. Instead of an axolotl. I have a dog, 10 years old, a spoodle. He's pretty hardy, as he ate 2 huge chocolate bunnys at Easter without even throwing up. (He shouldn't have done that!) But if you are planning to get/have a dog, it is important to know how to take care of your adorable companion.

DO's and DON'T's

-Don't feed them chocolate. No. 1 rule

-Do find out if they have any dietary requirements or allergies by going to a vet

-Do exercise them regularly, as a cooped up dog might get cranky, and bite

-Do get your dog microchipped, as when they go for a little adventure, this will make it easier for them to be returned to you safe and sound

-Don't punish your dog when they do something they're not supposed to do, yelling will either scare or encourage them, and hitting your dog will make them scared and hurt, as well as hitting any animal being inhumane

-Don't leave your dog home alone while it is still getting used to you, especially if it is a puppy

-Do try to adopt a dog/puppy from an animal shelter instead buying one from a factory or breeder

-Don't get a dog if you live in an apartment building, as there won't be enough space for your dog to run around without annoying people

-And do make sure your dog is safe, warm, loved, and has plenty of food and water!

When you do get a dog, it might be a good idea to take them to training sessions, as this will make life with your dog much easier! Your companion will be a loyal friend, who will happily snuggle up on the couch with you as you read a book.

-Foods that are (usually, unless you're my dog) bad for dogs are chocolate, onions
