Guinea pigs are cute, lovable, little, fluffy pom poms. They squeak. And squeak. And squeak. Until you say "NO! STOP! NO MORE SQUEAKING! SHUT UP!" But you actually really love your guinea pigs. They're adorable. People think that guinea pigs have no character, but they are DEAD WRONG. Guinea pigs have so much character that they are very funny. But if you have a guinea pig, and you're not planning to eat it, then follow these tips to take care of your guinea pig. Some people feed their guinea pigs pellets as well as vegetables, and this is alright sometimes, but not always, because guinea pigs will be much happier with vegetables and also lots of hay. Just don't rely on pellets as their "only" food.
-DON"T EVER FEED THEM CAKE,CHOCOLATE OR ANY OTHER PROCESSED HUMAN FOOD!!!
-Make sure they get lots of vegetables and occasionally some fruit as well
-DON"T FEED THEM BABY SPINACH!!!
-Make sure you cut your guinea pigs fur occasionally if you have a long haired guinea pig, otherwise their fur will become matted and uncomfortable for them
-If you get multiple guinea pigs, then make sure you get same gender guinea pigs, otherwise you'll end up with a lot of weak babies
-Make sure your guinea pig has a big "living area" and a closed in "bedroom" in their hutch.
-Guinea pigs love bamboo leaves, and bamboo is very good for them, so make sure your piggies have lots of bamboo
-Don't feed your piggies too much celery or cucumber, and never feed them lettuce, as they could give you guinea pig diarrhea
-Change your guinea pigs bedding regularly, once a week usually, but maybe two times a week in hot weather
